The Hmong people belong to one of the largest ethnic minorities in Vietnam and are mainly living in the mountainious north of the country. The history of the hmong is based on unwritten oral tradition so it’s not 100% clear where they have their origin.
The hmong people are distinguished on the clothing and their traditions. The Black Hmongs are best known for their handicraft and their traditional indigo blue dress. You can see their typical dress in the picture of this previous post of mine: http://juliasu.com/black-hmong/
Flower Hmongs, on the other hand, wear colorful clothes, and it is not difficult to find them during market days. Like in this picture here.
