rice farm

In the valleys of the northern vietnamese highlands i found the famous rice fields i was already simmering for before i left for my trip to Vietnam.

At the beginning of May they were just starting to till the fields. In the North they are only able to reap the fields just once a year. The even warmer climate in the south like the surrounding of the Mekong allows the people to get up to 4 batches rice a year. That’s just one reason why people in the North are having a “hard furrow to plough” to get the family well-fed and have to look for alternatives.

I kinda admired the beauty of the rice fields. A rather simple and touristy way of looking at them fields. But at least i was….a tourist.
